As a business owner, you must understand that businesses don’t grow accidentally, especially in their early stages. You as a business owner take intentional steps to ensure the growth of your brand.

If you have a small business or want to scale up your startup, then this subject of business growth is relevant for you. Mind you; this post isn’t the usual craft of a story or a post on a blog piece you see on the internet; this blog post is a well-researched and thought-out piece.

You are probably at that stage where you understand that you need to count your steps and weigh your options.

This is where measuring brand growth comes into the picture. Measuring brand growth can include increased income, increased visibility, increased brand engagement, increased reach/awareness, among others. Still, the goal is to reach more people and bring in more money.

There are several growth strategies you can implement for your brand, including social media marketing, reputation management, video marketing, partnership, paid media, blog marketing, brand awareness, and so much more, but for today, we will be talking more about blog marketing and how it affects your brand growth.

The world seems to be evolving daily, with literally everyone intending to become an entrepreneur, own a personal brand and bring in big bucks! Guess what? Performing blog marketing for business growth shines light on you so your audience can see you.

What is blog marketing?

Blog marketing is simply a content marketing strategy that uses the blog channel to address potential customers’ needs directly and individually, thus achieving brand trust and customer loyalty.

Some also refer to blog marketing as business blogging, but they are two different words.

Business blogging is the use of a blog to promote a business. But, the goal of each is to market your product/service to your target audience and increase your income, brand awareness, and customer base in return.

In blog marketing, it is not about creating generic content; the goal is to create helpful content for your audience and gain their trust via blogging.

Safe to say, the contents that might work for brand A and its audience might not work for brand B and its audience.

Over the years, blogging has evolved from a pen scheme to a marketing and growth scheme, making business owners see reasons to add it to their business growth model. With blogging having grown over time, many people have made and created businesses from blogging all on their own. Examples are lifestyle bloggers, food bloggers, travel bloggers, blogging coaches, business bloggers, etc.

The more advanced a country is, the easier it becomes to earn from blogging as well. In some countries, bloggers face various limitations, as seen in our recent blog post, but some still find a way to move away from the disadvantages and focus on the advantages.

With the incorporation of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies, blogging is a powerful business marketing tool and not a waste of time as some see it.

In recent times, research shows that more brands are leaning towards the blog marketing strategy to grow.

Why is this?

Because they now understand where their audience is and how they search for what they need, aka SEO & Keyword search.

The world seems to be evolving daily, with literally everyone intending to become an entrepreneur, own a personal brand and bring in big bucks! Guess what? Performing blog marketing for business growth shines light on you so your audience can see you.

Gone are the days when brands rely on social media marketing to grow their brand; these days, blog marketing is topping the charts, especially for startups and even global brands.

However, note your brand goals and defined objectives before choosing blog marketing as your strategy.

At the initial stage of blog marketing, it is vital to draft your marketing plans before jumping straight to implementation. When you have your marketing plans; then you integrate your content into the marketing plans. By doing this, you’ve done a thorough research on what your audience needs, how to attend to their needs and you are sure to see RESULTS!

What then is a business growth model?

A business growth model is a strategic and practical action plan a company or business must develop to grow, remain profitable, or even survive.

At different stages of your business development, you need an action plan depending on the business needs.

For example, your business growth model could look like this

  1. YEAR 1 – Build brand awareness + trust
  2. YEAR 2 – Increase brand awareness + trust
  3. YEAR 3 – Launch products/services
  4. YEAR 4 – Business growth take-off
  5. YEAR 5 – Keep building brand trust, influence, and income

There is usually a dependence on marketing strategies in most growth model strategies because the marketing sales funnel is activated during the process. You shouldn’t begin selling if your business can’t be trusted or you aren’t sure if it’s trusted.

For every step of your business growth model, you need blog marketing, With your blog, you create content that shows your audience how much of an expert you are and how much you care about their needs hence building trust and brand awareness.

Once you’ve built trust, you can then begin to SELL.

And, if you don’t market your product or services, people won’t even know about them, and the sales channels you have put in place won’t be activated.

The goal is to boost your business’s revenue with an excellent product launch, sales, and profitability achieved by maintaining costs hence the vitality of blog marketing.

I know you might be wondering what the huge deal is about blog marketing and why I am causing such a stir.

Take a look at these five shocking reasons why blog marketing is essential in your business growth model as a brand/business owner.

Importance of blog marketing in your business growth model.

  • It creates an avenue for increased revenue: With blog marketing, you can explore different avenues to generate extra revenue for your business or brand aside from your main products. This can be through promoting products from other business in your industry, affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, etc.

In addition, you also increase your brand and product by promoting your products/services through your blog posts and SEO incorporated blog marketing. Either way, your blog is gaining visibility, which increases your revenue if appropriately managed.

The world seems to be evolving daily, with literally everyone intending to become an entrepreneur, own a personal brand and bring in big bucks! Guess what? Performing blog marketing for business growth shines light on you so your audience can see you.
  • It positions your business as an authority in your industry: When you incorporate blog marketing into your brand growth model, it sets your business as an authority, i.e., a thought leader in your industry. You gain client trust in the process, and soon, your business becomes the go-to brand for ideas in your industry for potential clients and existing clients. Anything you say or do becomes a model for others. Little secret: customers prefer experts who have proof of their expertise.
  • It drives traffic to your website: If your website is your major sales funnel, let’s say you operate an e-commerce store, then you need a blog marketing strategy ASAP. One good thing about this is that the traffic you get on your website is also felt on your social media pages if adequately structured. According to inbound marketing experts, Hubspot businesses that blog regularly tend to attract 55% more traffic than those that don’t. Other marketing channels are also activated through blog marketing, such as email, social media, influencer, and paid advertising.
  • It helps to build your brand voice: Another great thing blog marketing does for your business growth is that it enables you to discover your brand voice and develop it. Your brand voice is the defined personality your brand takes on in its communication. Simply put, it is the voice that makes your brand stand out in its unique way. It helps you stand out from the crowd and noise of social media. You discover the tone of your blog as you grow. You also identify your audience and their persona.
  • Lastly, it promotes long-term results: If you recall, at the beginning of the benefits of blog marketing, I talked about being placed as an authority in your industry; that happens if you consistently create valuable and educational content for your audience. You will also receive new traffic and leads from your audience for an extended period. Also, prospective clients following your content are indirectly propelled towards the sales funnel with sufficient knowledge of your product and services. This strategy promotes long-term results because your sales channels are activated as long as you remain an authority in your field.

One of the reasons marketers refer to blogging as a long-term game is that one doesn’t see blogging results immediately, but the longer you keep at it, the higher the stability and leads.

You can implement several blog marketing strategies to help grow your brand/business: from guest blogging to email marketing to virtual events. However, each strategy has its challenges but definite results!

To determine which of these blog marketing strategies is compatible with your blog niche and brand voice, you need to consider factors such as preferences, target audience, availability, commitment, and consistency.

You can book a session with Ruth Adeyemi for a more in-depth discussion on the blog marketing strategy that best fits your brand.

Celebrating 5-Year Blogging Anniversary

Five years ago, I started the SARMLife Blog as a means to improve my writing skills and share my traveling journey with family and friends.

Over the years, I have transitioned from a lifestyle blogger to a health blogger, blogging coach, and SEO coach. Today, as I mark my fifth year blogging anniversary, I have my SEO agency, and I’m highly grateful to God as I look at the IMPACT & INFLUENCE in the past five (5) years.

As I celebrate year 5, I want to take you on a journey of possibilities by letting you in on how it all started, some successes, failures, and impacts along the way.

Ruth Adeyemi celebrates five (5) years blogging anniversary

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Five (5) years ago, I had sleepless nights at the thought of starting something I was passionate about. The urge was so great that I created multiple platforms, including a modest fashion page, writing page, etc., but the fire wasn’t quenched.

In December 2018, I traveled to New York City with my sister, beginning a spiral event. I desperately wanted to talk about my visit to the city because that was my first time in such a big city, especially coming from a small town in Nigeria.

After doing my research, I learned that blogging was the best avenue to share my thoughts and experiences. From blogging about my New York trip, a desire to always be the best, and a passion for helping in my capacity, SARMLife grew from a blog to a coaching business that caters to bloggers and business owners.

That was a little too fast, I know! Let me break it down a bit.

After starting my lifestyle blog in the early months of 2019, my writing improved, and I began to garner good traffic (20,000 MONTHLY VISITORS) on my website. I had site visitors from all over the world, from Frankfurt to India, France, the United States, Nigeria, Turkey, Russia, Switzerland, etc.

It was highly exciting, and you bet I shared all the successes online. After sharing my wins and my innate teaching ability, I yielded to the request from some of my Instagram followers to coach them on how to blog effectively.

I started coaching bloggers in September 2020 where I coached 26 aspiring bloggers. Due to the high demands, I had another coaching session in November 2020 with 17 aspiring bloggers.

One thing I didn’t mention is that before I began blog coaching, I started the SARMLife Digital Skills Training (SDST), formerly known as SARMLife Digital Skills Internship) in March 2020.

Since then, SDST has been our annual give-back program to empower the new generation of digital enthusiasts.

And that, my friend, was the beginning of this beautiful ride.

Today marks my third blogging anniversary and I'm speechless looking at the IMPACT & INFLUENCE achieved over the years. Here are my TOP FIVE MUST-READ POSTS

I never planned to be a blogger, more or less a blogging coach! Yet, five years later, my blog is a standard in the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) industry.

I’ve coached successful bloggers, helped small businesses achieve their 4,5-figure income goals, trained students who are doing excellently well, featured on podcasts & several events, and helped influencers achieve an average monthly website traffic of 93,000, etc.

FEATURED PODCASTS/YOUTUBE INVITES/INTERVIEWS

These are some of the recorded features, and I am excited to have more of these in the coming years

RECENT BLOGGING/BUSINESS SUCCESSES

Over the years, we’ve had a tremendous amount of success.

  1. In 2020 when I wasn’t heavily focused on making a business out of blogging, SARMLife made a little over #100,000 in revenue
  2. In 2021, the business made over #1,000,000 in revenue by the end of the year
  3. In 2022, we transitioned to US Dollars, and we made over $15,000. That was definitely a defining year for us.
  4. In 2023, we can’t disclose how much we made yet, but with our revenue, I took care of personal expenses like paying for a car, tuition, buying equipment from employees, and paying salaries, and we still had left over. Indeed, God is good!
  5. From a client success story standpoint, we worked with over ten (10) website owners and helped them collectively achieve up to 3 Million website traffic.
  6. In addition to the website traffic, our clients collectively made 6-figures (USD) in revenue in the year 2023
  7. We made it to the 2023 SELAR’s Top 100 African Creator List. READ MORE

SOME FAILURES

Yes, we’ve had several successes, but we’ve also had our fair share of failures. Failures are the backbone of the greatest success stories, so we are surely on the right path.

  1. One of the biggest failures this year was closing our Telegram community. While it was the best decision to close down the page, I felt a gut punch like we had betrayed people who trusted us to guide them on their digital journey. We majorly closed down the page because we didn’t have a focused interest which led to poor engagement. In the future, we plan to have an SEO-focused community. You can anticipate that.
  2. Another failure was the inability to grow our Instagram page as we wanted to. Social media growth has always been a struggle, and 2023 definitely was challenging. We saw lapses in our social media growth strategies, and we are working hard this year to improve the way we communicate value to our devoted audience.

There are several areas of growth that we are working on for sure, and I trust God to help us greatly in this new year as He has in times past.

MY BLOGGING COMMUNITY

I created BlogAfriqué in 2021 as a community to help African bloggers thrive. African bloggers face many challenges that are region-specific and traced to the lack of African-based blogging coaches and a good support community.

We now accept non-African bloggers as we talk about global challenges like traffic building and blog monetization as well.

I hope that BlogAfriqué helps all its members by showing them a clear, PROVEN way to immense growth as a blogger. I also share my growth journey and the lessons I’ve learned so that together, we can create our mark!

Energy-Drinks

ENERGY DRINKS│12 PROS AND CONS OF ENERGY DRINKS

I recently realized that some people take energy drinks like juice without knowing how harmful it can be to their health when taken in such an unreasonable quantity.

Even in the USA, most youths and adolescents take these drinks to keep them awake, especially during exam seasons. I know a friend who consumes energy drinks like water, which is detrimental to an individual’s health.

I need this so bad; I can’t fall asleep now. Gosh! Where is this Red Bull? Is this what you tell yourself whenever you search through the house? Or, probably, your eyes scan through the store to look for a brand of energy drink.

In that case, you must be aware of the pros and cons of energy drinks.

What exactly are energy drinks?

Energy drinks are “any of various types of beverages that are considered a source of energy, especially a soft drink containing a high percentage of sugar and/or caffeine or other stimulants.”

These stimulants provide the consumer with mental and physical stimulation. Energy drinks may or may not be carbonated. They contain a variety of ingredients, such as amino acids, taurine, herbal extracts, sweeteners, etc., with the main ingredients being caffeine and sugar.

Commonly known energy drinks are Red Bull, Monster Energy, Rockstar, 5-hr Energy, NOS, Full Throttle, Xyience, Bang, Celsius, Zevia, Burn, and Amp Energy.

Energy drinks may or may not be carbonated. They contain a variety of ingredients, such as amino acids, taurine, herbal extracts, sweeteners, etc., with the main ingredients being caffeine and sugar.

Content of Energy Drinks

The content or ingredients used in an energy drink can vary from brand to brand. Also, the amount of each ingredient used can vary as well.

However, here are some of the common ingredients often used in preparing energy drinks:

Caffeine

Caffeine is a legal and natural stimulant that is found naturally in coffee, tea, and cacao plants.

It is the main ingredient in energy drinks and is responsible for the energy boost that they provide.

Caffeine works by blocking adenosine, a neurotransmitter that promotes sleepiness. By blocking adenosine, caffeine increases alertness and cognitive function.

Sugar

Sugar is a source of quick energy that is added to many energy drinks.

It is absorbed into the bloodstream quickly and provides a short-term energy boost. However, sugar can also lead to weight gain and other health problems, such as tooth decay and diabetes.

Some energy drinks are made with artificial sweeteners instead of sugar.

Taurine

Taurine is an amino acid that is found naturally in the human body. It is said to improve muscle function and reduce fatigue. However, there is not enough research to confirm these benefits.

Taurine is often added to energy drinks because it is thought to help counteract the negative effects of caffeine, such as anxiety and jitters.

Ginseng

Ginseng is a root that is native to Asia. It is often used in traditional Chinese medicine to improve energy, focus, and cognitive function.

Ginseng is an ingredient used in energy drinks because it is thought to provide a more sustained energy boost than caffeine alone.

Guarana

Guarana is a South American berry that contains caffeine and other stimulants. Guarana is thought to have a more sustained energy boost similar to Ginseng.

Vitamin B

B vitamins are essential for energy production in the body. They help the body convert food into energy.

B vitamins are often added to energy drinks to help improve energy levels and also cognitive function.

Carnitine

Carnitine is an amino acid that helps the body transport fatty acids into the cells, where they can be used for energy. Carnitine is sometimes used in energy drinks because it is thought to help improve athletic performance and reduce fatigue.

Green Tea Extract

Green tea extract is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. It contains a number of antioxidants and other compounds that are thought to have health benefits, including fighting cancer.

Energy Drinks vs Sports Drinks

It is important to create the distinction between energy drinks and sports drinks in this blog post.

This is because people often use energy drinks in place of sports drinks and vice versa.

It is essential to know that energy drinks are different from sports drinks, which are drinks that enhance sports performance.

Sports drinks are flavored beverages that contain carbohydrates, minerals, electrolytes, vitamins, and other nutrients, while energy drinks use caffeine as their primary source of oxygen.

“Some energy drinks pack more than 500milligrams of caffeine, which is enough to cause caffeine toxicity.” On the other hand, most sports drinks contain 24 milligrams of caffeine per serving.

There is also a misconception among alcohol users that mixing alcohol with energy drinks helps neutralize the effects of alcohol.

In 2015, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) conducted research and concluded that it is doubtful for caffeine to mask alcohol intoxication.

Mechanism of Action of energy drinks

Caffeine acts as an adenosine receptor antagonist, preventing adenosine from binding to its receptors and exerting its inhibitory effects on the central nervous system (CNS). This leads to increased alertness, enhanced cognitive function, and a sense of wakefulness.

Caffeine also stimulates the release of adrenaline (epinephrine) from the adrenal glands. Adrenaline is a hormone that prepares the body for the “fight-or-flight” response, leading to increased heart rate, blood pressure, and energy levels.

Additionally, caffeine can enhance the release of dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and reward, contributing to the mood-boosting effects of energy drinks.

Other ingredients in energy drinks, such as taurine, guarana, and ginseng, may also contribute to the overall effects.

So, with this mechanism of action, imagine taking three bottles of an energy drink! You can guess the result.

Pros of Energy Drinks

Now that we know something about its mechanism of action, let’s dive into the benefits.

1. Increases the alertness of consumer

This is probably the major reason why a lot of people consume energy drinks. The caffeine content in these drinks is what is responsible for this function.

Caffeine is a stimulant that can stimulate the release of adrenaline, which is known as the energy hormone responsible for the popular “fight-or-flight response”.

2. Improves consumer’s memory

Multiple studies have suggested that the combination of caffeine and sugar is what is responsible for this benefit.

This study, in particular, showed that consuming about 500ml of Redbull led to a 24% increase in concentration and memory.

3. Elevates the mood of the consumer

According to WebMD, some studies have shown that there’s the possibility of caffeine consumption resulting in elevated mood, especially for people with depression.

However, this possible benefit does not justify or mean that you should include caffeine in your daily diet.

Increase exercise performance

Energy drinks have been said to help boost physical performance, like in the case of people doing exercise or sports activities. However, it is important to note that sport drinks are different from energy drinks like i stated earlier on in this blog post.

The adrenaline produced under the influence of caffeine and sugar can help to increase your physical limits, although this can take its toll on your muscles after the effect has worn off.

Although these drinks are beneficial, taking them in excess and for a prolonged period of time can be very dangerous.

Why is that, Ruth? Well, here are the cons of energy drinks.

Cons of Energy Drinks

The main reason why energy drinks are harmful when taken in high amounts is due to caffeine overdose. The overdose of caffeine then leads to several unwanted effects.

The other additives also included when producing energy drinks can also be harmful to the body. Consumers will not always check the label or marketing details before purchasing a drink.

Here are some of the known cons of energy drinks:

1. Cardiovascular effect

Excessive caffeine consumption can lead to cardiovascular complications such as increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, and irregular heartbeat.

These effects can be particularly concerning for individuals with underlying heart conditions because they can increase their risk of cardiac arrest (heart stoppage) – cardiac arrest is when the heart malfunctions or suddenly stops beating.

2. Panic attack and anxiety

Excessive caffeine consumption can trigger anxiety and panic attacks, especially in individuals with a predisposition to anxiety disorders.

The jittery, anxious feeling and energy surge associated with caffeine can exacerbate anxiety symptoms.

3. Nervousness

Caffeine can cause nervousness and restlessness, making it difficult to relax and sleep. The stimulating effects of caffeine combined with other energy drink content can interfere with the body’s natural sleep-wake cycle, leading to insomnia and daytime fatigue.

4. Caffeine withdrawal symptoms

When you are used to caffeine consumption and stop abruptly, it can lead to withdrawal symptoms such as headache, fatigue, irritability, difficulty concentrating, and muscle aches.

5. Increased urination.

Caffeine has diuretic properties, which means that it increases the production of urine. This can lead to dehydration, especially if not accompanied by adequate fluid intake.

6. Type-2 diabetes.

Studies suggest an association between excessive energy drink consumption and an increased risk of developing type-2 diabetes. The high sugar content and processed ingredients in energy drinks may contribute to this risk.

7. Pregnancy & Birth Complications

Pregnant women should avoid or limit energy drink consumption due to the potential risks to the developing fetus.

Caffeine has the ability to cross the placenta and affect fetal development. It can lead to stillbirth, low birth weight, and more.

So, Who Are the Ideal Users of Energy Drinks?

Unfortunately, there are no strict age restrictions or regulations when it comes to energy drinks.

Some of the producing companies, however, advise children against the use of their products as it is preferable for youths and adults usage. It is now the responsibility of parents and custodians to ensure that children don’t consume this highly caffeinated drink.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) warns that energy drinks have no place in children’s and adolescents’ diets.

An excessive amount of caffeine can affect the appropriate balance of carbohydrate, fat, and protein intakes needed for optimal growth development, body composition, and health.

Health organizations even advise that children should not take more than 100mg of caffeine per day, while adults shouldn’t go above 400mg.

Yes, we have the right to take energy drinks, but do they benefit us in the long run?

I believe that the companies producing these products need to do a better job of enlightening the public on the effects of what they are selling.

As I conclude, make sure you have a good knowledge of any substance you put in your body. Also, do all things in moderation.

Wix to Wordpress

HOW TO MIGRATE FROM WIX TO WORDPRESS IN 8 EASY STEPS

Migrating my website from WIX to WordPress has not been easy, from thinking about the right theme, the appropriate pictures, and the standard format like privacy policy and signup forms to pestering the web developer and so on.

Can I also talk about SEO for a second? I almost cried after spending about 2 hours optimizing ONE blog post.

SARMLife started as a WIX blog in 2019, fueled by a passion to share my experiences. However, it has since grown into a global SEO agency with a functioning website and a Nigerian-registered digital school.

After my experience migrating from WIX to WordPress, I decided to share what I have learned in order to make the path easier for you.

So, how did I go from a WIX blog to crushing SEO goals with a WordPress website?

The move from WIX to WordPress was the change that transitioned SARMLife into a SEO agency with several ranking keywords and SEO clients. Here's how we did it.

WHY DID I MOVE FROM WIX?

For the longest time, I thought WIX was the best blogging platform. Yes, it is among the best, and it worked for me in my early days, but as my blogging and SEO goals began to expand, WIX was no longer appropriate.

Before I continue, I’d like to give a quick definition of a BLOG & a WEBSITE.

A blog is a type of website that is frequently updated, while a website is mostly fixed once designed. Changes can be made to a website once in a while, but it’s not regularly updated as a blog would. Mind you, a website can have a blog on it; nevertheless, it is still a website even without a blog.

SARMLife started as a hobby blog, but with the SARMLife Sponsorship Program, blog & digital skills Courses, digital school, a shop, and internship opportunities in 2021, the need to switch to a website became prominent.

WHY I TRANSITIONED FROM WIX TO WORDPRESS

WordPress houses about 1.3 billion active websites, according to Netcraft’s survey. Besides that, most global sites, apart from those built from scratch, are housed on WordPress.

With a global mindset as well, I decided to join the community of WordPress users. Of course, the stats were not the only reason.

  1. For proper optimization of my blog through SEO. It was difficult, if not almost impossible, to do SEO on WIX.
  1. For a better Marketplace option. WIX had a shop option, but I needed to pay before using that option, whereas, on WordPress, I got to use WooCommerce for free.
  1. The email provider that WIX partnered with only let me send three emails to my subscribers per month as of 2019, but now, you can send 200 emails per month. the FREE plan.
  1. There weren’t so many design options. Yes, WIX is a drag-and-drop website, but options like Astra, Elementor, Blossom themes, and the likes that WordPress provides were not present.
  1. There were so many limitations; I can’t name them all. There were also some limitations i didn’t discover until when I needed them.

NOTE: WIX is a great platform to host your blog if you want to start a hobby blog. If you are a geek, you can code a lot of things into WIX and make it work for you. But if you want to make money through blogging without a large social media following or deep pockets for marketing, WIX isn’t for you!

OUR PROCESS: MIGRATING FROM WIX TO WORDPRESS

Migrating from WIX to WordPress wasn’t a comfortable journey, as I mentioned earlier.

The strategic planning with my team was top-notch, and I am thankful for every one of them. The web developer brought his “A-game,” too.

I remember the first/second week when he thought he was done, haha! When he showed me the website, I was irritated because it looked too masculine. I don’t blame him; he is a man, after all, and besides, I didn’t give him design specifics.

After another week of searching for the right design, we came up with a nice design and aesthetic. However, the more we grew, the more we needed change, and the website you now see has undergone several updates and readjustments.

You will agree with me that the website looks super professional, a little in-between masculinity and femininity, and above all, perfect. The weeks and months of intense work were worth it, after all.

HOW TO TRANSITION YOUR WEBSITE FROM WIX TO WORDPRESS

Here is a step-by-step guide to transitioning your website from WIX to WordPress:

1. Buy and Register a Domain Name

If you don’t already have a domain name, you will need to purchase one. A domain name is your website’s address on the internet. You can purchase a domain name from a registrar like GoDaddy or Namecheap.

Once you have purchased a domain name, you will need to register it with your WordPress host. This will make it possible for people to visit your website by typing in your domain name into their web browser.

If you have already purchased a domain name with another provider, all you need to do is to connect the existing domain.

2. Choose a WordPress Host

A WordPress host is a company that provides the servers and storage space for your WordPress website. There are many different WordPress hosts to choose from, so it is important to compare pricing and features before making a decision.

You can also consider factors such as bandwidth, storage, support, security, and so on. The factor that should matter the most is the one that will greatly influence your type of website and your blogging goals.

Some popular WordPress hosts include Bluehost, SiteGround, and Kinsta.

We use SITEGROUND, and I absolutely recommend it.

3. Install WordPress

Once you have chosen a WordPress host, you will need to install WordPress on your hosting account.

Most WordPress hosts offer one-click WordPress installation, which makes it very easy to get started. However, your installation process will depend on the host you are using.

If you are unable to install WordPress using your hosting account’s one-click installer, you can follow the manual installation instructions that your host provides.

4. Add a WordPress Theme to Your Website

A WordPress theme is a template that controls the look and feel of your website. There are thousands of free and premium WordPress themes available.

To add a WordPress theme to your website, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Appearance » Themes page in your WordPress dashboard.
  • Click the Add New button.
  • Browse the available themes or search for a specific theme.
  • Click the Install button next to the theme you want to use.
  • Once the theme is installed, click the Activate button.

5. How to Choose a WordPress Theme

When it comes to choosing your WordPress theme, there are a lot of factors to consider. Not every beautiful theme might fit your brand or business image.

When choosing a WordPress theme, consider the following factors:

  • Style: Choose a theme that matches your website’s overall style and branding.
  • Features: Make sure the theme has the features you need, such as a contact form, e-commerce capabilities, or social media integration.
  • Responsiveness: Ensure the theme is responsive, meaning it will look good on all devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Support: Choose a theme from a reputable developer who provides good support.

6. Import Your Blog Content from Wix to WordPress

If you have a Wix blog, you can import your blog posts to WordPress using the RSS feed method. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Settings » General page in your Wix dashboard.
  • Copy the RSS feed URL for your blog.
  • Go to the Tools » Import page in your WordPress dashboard.
  • Click the Install Now button under the RSS heading.
  • Enter the RSS feed URL for your Wix blog and click the Submit button.

Your blog post will then be imported from WIX to WordPress.

If you do not know how to add an RSS feed button to your WIX site, you might need to manually copy and paste each blog post to your WordPress site.

7. Transfer Your Wix Pages to WordPress

You will need to recreate your Wix pages manually in WordPress. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Open the Wix page you want to transfer to WordPress.
  • Copy the content of the page.
  • In your WordPress dashboard, go to Pages » Add New.
  • Paste the copied content into the new page.
  • Enter a title for the page and adjust the content format and styles.
  • Preview the page and make any other necessary adjustments
  • Click the Publish button to make the page live on your WordPress site.

8. Redirect Wix to Your New WordPress Site

Once you have transferred all of your content to WordPress, you will need to redirect your Wix site to your new WordPress site.

To redirect, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your Wix dashboard.
  • Go to the Settings » General page.
  • Scroll down to the SEO section and click the Edit button next to the Site URL field.
  • Enter the URL of your new WordPress site and click the Save button.

It may take up to 48 hours for the redirect to take effect.

NOTE: Redirection can only be done if you are using the paid WIX version, if not, you might need to create a kind of alert to notify your audience of the change.

WHAT WE LEARNED FROM TRANSITIONING

If we all share what we’ve learned during this process of transitioning from WIX to WordPress, you might get tired of reading because we learned a lot. To save you the energy, here is what my Executive Assistant learned during the transitioning process.

“Transitioning from WIX to WordPress taught me patience. Patience in the sense that I had to keep my fingers crossed and hoped for the best. I also got to know the importance of teamwork. SARMLife team fought through the waiting and transitioning period, and I’m proud to say, we came out better and more energetic. As cliché as that might sound, it is the truth.”

The transitioning period taught me that positivity/optimism is highly needed. There were times when I felt bothered because I felt like the waiting time took forever. Even in those moments, I had to encourage myself and the SARMLife team to keep on and be positive.

I am glad the transition happened because it brought out the best in us, I would say.

Ruth showed herself to be a leader indeed; yes, the team had its moments of “back and forth arguments,” but we came back from those moments and saw the light together.

There were opportunities we came across as well; there were moments we had to brainstorm together and pen down ideas. I enjoyed these moments because they taught me how good of an advisor I am (lol).

One of those good moments I enjoyed was when I wrote a book, an e-book specifically.

I stayed up late at night to make sure I got the right content from our previously used Creative Writing book. I enjoyed the process because it made me believe in myself as a writer.

And yay! I wrote my first ever e-book, “MASTERING THE ART OF BLOGGING,” which is available in the store. I’m excited we waited, and we are back, baby!!!

OUR PROGRESS SO FAR AND MOVING FORWARD.

Since we’ve moved from WIX to WordPress, our website has grown far beyond what we could’ve imagined! From ranking on Google’s first page to podcast interviews and brand collaborations both within and outside the United States.

We have catered and are still catering to clients both online and offline, which made us create a service page on our website. You can also see our client portfolio on the SARMLife homepage.

Moving forward, we are not willing to compromise on the exceptional service that we offer, and we will continue to provide you with content to help you LIVE and LEAD as a business and brand.

As usual, our blog section will be updated every Saturday. Also, the SARMLife shop, which currently contains some of our digital courses, will be updated constantly.
